Welcome to Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario. Here at Bishop Ryan we believe that a balanced and multi-dimensional programme from grades 9 through 12, and the achievement of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, will successfully prepare our students for their future in the working world, College, or for their University endeavours. We continue to demonstrate our commitment to academic excellence every year. Our students have shown an outstanding performance when taking the standardized grade 9 Mathematical Literacy, and grade 10 Ontario Secondary School Literacy tests. Bishop Ryan also has a consistently high graduation rate.

We are very proud of our successful co-instructional programmes in football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, wrestling, and baseball to name a few. In the arts, we excel through our musical productions and outstanding performances by our internationally acclaimed vocal group "The Bishop Ryan Xpression." Founded in 1958, the school moved to its new location on Albright Rd. in 1990 in order to provide a more spacious, modern facility featuring a state of the art auditorium, television and recording studios, modern equipment, four excellent gymnasiums, a brand new fitness centre, and well maintained playing field.

As a Catholic School, faith-centred activities are an important part of our daily lives. Our Chaplain plays an integral part as we celebrate school masses, liturgies, daily prayers, and as we give back to our community by providing exciting events, and through acts of charity. We also provide an inclusive programme with excellent student support through our special education, student success, and student services departments.

Many outstanding men and women have passed through our hallowed halls, and our graduates have moved on to make the world a better place. Our reputation for academic and athletic achievements, social responsibility, and positive community involvement continues today.
